Perfecttunes with mediamonkey manual#
Usually accurip can detect what CD you are trying to rip, but it also offers manual editing before you rip the disc which is great for singles that might be hard to figure out.

Every so often they update it so if you want the latest version you need to upgrade, but I have been really happy with it for ripping CD's it is worth it to me.

It is not a subscription, it is a 1 time purchase, they offer a single license and a "family Pack" that is good for 3 computers. I have all my playlists in my music folder (in an extra folder) and do not have any problems with it.Is the DBPowerAMP / Perfect Tunes a subscription, $$, type of thing? Obviously you have to trigger the command more often. I think that LMS has not rescanned my collection properly although trying to force it to do so. I have some files where I accidentally deleted the tags before rewriting them and the information has to be restored from backup.

For this I used MusicBee and its excellent function 'Move files to organised folder'. Obviously LMS also cares for the file path when compiling, so I had to separate folders or bring files together according to whether I wanted them 'compiled' or not.

This was primarily with incomplete compilations from which I had only part of the songs. I destroyed some compilations by removing the compilation tag and the various artist tag. Mp3tag has a command 'remove double tags'. I might have also removed the double Album artist - I had Album Artist and Albumartist - but I can't find any files to confirm this in one way or another. I think they were created automatically by MediaMonkey - there is a thread in this forum on this issue. In addition I had removed all those double year/date tags which my files had. I did this in mp3tag and had my collection filtered by file type. Okay what I did - with excellent help from the people at this forum - was that I removed all ID 3.1 tags after I wrote all information whatsoever into the ID 3.2 tags.

This is an i7 windows machine and files are on an eSata drive (not SSD) attached to the windows machine.Well it took hours but I did it. I was curious, so I just loaded up my compete collection on mp3tag (about 96,000 tracks, FLAC, some mp3, some m4a). I usually find mp3tag to be pretty fast, but then again I'm rarely loading up more than a few albums at a time for editing. Perhaps mp3tag is struggling to read your tags? Regarding mp3tag reading your files, I've just opened my folder "A" which contains all artists with name beginning with A, 968 tracks (mixed flac & mp3s) took 28 secs. Man, reading the files into mp3tag takes ages!Well, if you think the problem is LMS, I can't help anymore. In addition, I have zero problems with straightforward albums. These files display perfectly fine in MusicBee or MediaMonkey, there's no problem whatsoever.

ogg-files, pointing to flaws of LMS in dealing with this filetype. Man, reading the files into mp3tag takes ages! I have gotten rid of them by writing the artist into the album artist. Compilations are only precious, I thought, if you perceive them as compilations and wish to listen to them in total (which is not the case with, say, '1999 Indie Top Twenty' from which you ripped 12 songs only anyway). But I have gotten rid of a lot of compilations which I did not have in full. As of now, I have organised compilations as AlbumArtist=Various because it works with the players I use so I don't think I'll do away with it. However, I think its a very good idea to remove these ID3v1 tags. Its mostly files I collected several years ago and left to rest in a hidden chamber on my hard disk. You perceived my connection as messy because these are the files I have problems with. Also I find it hard to come up with a connection between messy tags and double entries in the library.

It seems to me that LMS does not completely clear the library even if you do a full rescan and that many double or triple entries in LMS stem from the fact that the old compilations aren't deleted while they are added anew in their modified version. As noted, your tags are a mess.I don't quite see it this way.
